Vecenie Rank: No. 15

The Player:

Jackson was the best player on the national champion of college basketball this season, and he took the leap into that position by becoming a knockdown jump shooter from deep. At 6-foot-8, Jackson made over 100 3s at a 37 percent clip last year, transitioning from an inconsistent shooter as an underclassman to a marksman as a junior. Given that he also has a good in-between game with floaters and solid feet defensively, Jackson has good potential as a 3-and-D player.

The Fit:

The Blazers don’t have a big wing that can knock down shots consistently right now. Jackson is the perfect fit for them next to smaller guards in C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard due to that talent for hitting big shots as well as defending with solid footwork. Would think they’d be very happy if he was here.

Finch’s Take

“Love his ability to come off screens and knock down midrange shots. Great kid. The main concern is what kind of defender he’s going to be and whether he can get open looks because of his slow foot speed. Is he going to be a consistent worker? He’s got a great floater game and I thought he tried hard on defense. If that carries over, he’ll be a good piece. I wonder if he’s too nice. He’s not the toughest kid.”
